College of Science, Technology, and Health NAVIGATION

"Nursing integrates the art and science of caring and focuses on the protection, promotion, and optimization of health and human functioning; prevention of illness and injury; facilitation of healing; and alleviation of suffering through compassionate presence. Nursing is the diagnosis and treatment of human responses and advocacy in the care of individuals, families, groups, communities, and populations in recognition of the connection of all humanity." (American Nurses Association, 2021, p. 1).

The Lindenwood University Nursing program is committed to developing academic opportunities for those interested in becoming a bachelors educated registered nurse (RN). To this regard, we have two programs of study:

  • Pre-licensure/traditional BSN RN program track (starting Fall 2025) - designed to prepare graduates for entry into the profession of nursing.
  • Post-licensure/degree completion BSN program track - designed for the currently licensed RN (diploma or associates degree) to complete their BSN degree.

Traditional Track

Our traditional nursing (BSN) track prepares undergraduate students to successfully pass the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX-RN) and begin a rewarding nursing career. The traditional BSN is a full-time day on-campus program and may include evening/weekend labs or clinical rotations. The traditional BSN track is designed for students who have completed core general education and nursing prerequisite courses.  Interested students would apply to the nursing major during their sophomore year and begin nursing courses in their junior year*.

* Those admitted to the nursing traditional track will be charged an additional program fee beyond standard tuition.  See university published tuition/fees information for details

RN TO BSN Track

Our undergraduate RN to BSN Program leads to the bachelor's degree in nursing for the professional registered nurse without repetition of pre-licensure nursing courses. Curriculum is designed to be completed 100% online and centered around the working nurse. The program can be enrolled in either a full-time or part-time basis and requires a minimum of 32 credits at Lindenwood University. Credit for prior RN license is awarded upon entry to the program*. This program is specifically designed for working registered nurses who have completed a diploma or associate degree in nursing and obtained a RN licensure (unencumbered).

* Those admitted to the RN to BSN track will be charged an one-time administrative fee for posting RN licensure credits.  See university published tuition/fees information for details.
